In my personal experience, I experienced the same frustration with many weight management programs as many of my clients. When I heard about Ideal Protein from a friend, I was impressed by her successes with the program, and decided to try the program. I quickly became excited about the program, and found my own success! It was the one program that allowed to me to focus on losing weight and learning to keep it off! I have been working with the Ideal Protein weight loss method for two years, and am continually excited about the successes I am seeing in both weight loss and maintenance.

Since moving to Palmer in 1989, I have truly enjoyed being part of the Mat-Su Valley community. From raising my family on our small farm in Palmer, to becoming dear friends with so many Alaskans, I truly call this my home. I am most excited about bringing this program to my friends and neighbors in the greater Mat-Su Valley.

As a registered Nurse Practitioner, my training specializes in family practice, and I have found a passion for functional medicine and am continuing my study of clinical nutrition. This program is a medically developed and supervised sensible weight loss protocol which primarily promotes weight loss while supporting muscle mass.

Our program features one-on-one weight loss coaching, and I strive to help you achieve your weight loss goals. I also focus extensively on education for post weight loss maintenance. I am passionate about helping my friends and neighbors here in Alaska succeed in their wellness goals, and live long, happy, healthy lives.

Hannah Thompson, Coach

HannahThompsonHannah was born and raised in the Matanuska valley where she learned to love skiing, hiking, fishing, hunting and playing with her dogs. She left state for 5 years and got a nursing degree at Carroll College in Helena, Montana.

She has been a Registered Nurse for 10 years; she has worked in the hospital, clinic and school nurse settings. 6 years ago she went on her first date with my now husband, Jeremiah, and they will soon celebrate 4 year of being happily married.

 

 

 

April Miranda, LBSW Clinical Coordinator

AprilMirandaI’ve always had a passion for helping other. I attended the University of Montana and majored in Social Work. Upon graduating I moved back to Alaska and started my career. For the past 9 years I worked as a medical social worker. In March 2014 I joined the Wishing Wellness team. I am thrilled to be working and living in my hometown. I love Palmer and enjoy providing support and education for healthy living in our community.

At Wishing Wellness you will find me coaching our clients, teaching Food and Feeling classes, and leading our monthly maintenance meetings. Starting this fall Karen and I will offer education and training tools to teach clients how to manage stress and emotions using Heartmath techniques.

When I’m not at work I usually outside. I enjoy running, biking, and fishing and gardening. I’m most happy when I’m with my family, dogs, and husband Travis.

JennyHopperI grew up in Alaska and still call the valley my home. I am married and have a lovely 9 year old daughter and two dogs. We love to be outside kayaking, four wheeling, or just taking the dogs for a hike. I first got involved with Ideal Protein a few years ago. I love seeing results, but more than that I love to see the way people's lives change.

To walk beside someone on their journey to better health is a gift all in itself. I am now pursuing my RN after seven years working as a Medical Assistant in Family Medicine.
